The Bildnerische Werkstatt is a non-profit-making art gallery/studio under the auspices of the Rotenburer Werke der Inneren Mission. For the last thirteen years, it has been a place where creative ideas become reality. Since its establishment in 1988, the Bildnerische Werkstatt has become a highly respected cultural resource and is rapidly gaining in popularity.
If you were to look in the dictionary to find out what "Bildnerische Werkstatt" actually means you would probably come up with something along the lines of "creative working-place". That is a rather misleading translation as it is really a place where one can experience and discover the many forms of creativity. Since 1995 we have had visitors from all walks of life taking part in our workshops. It wouldn't be unusual for a computer analyst or a doctor to find himself learning to paint alongside a mentally handicapped person who contributes a very individual perception to the class. Housewives, civil servants and students playfully learn all the possibilities of creating metal sculptures. The chance is that a craftsman, an architect and a owner of an Art Gallery will find themselves learning how to develop an advertising concept. These are just a few of the wide range of possibilities. Our workshops offer an experimental atmosphere where participants are supervised by a highly competent teaching staff.
Exhale in the Bildernischen Werkstatt. To experience art and creativity without stress or pretentious teaching methods leaves one feeling exhilerated but never exhausted. Workshops are not our only speciality; we have exhibitions, concerts and open discussions sessions, to name just a few. The cultural program is visited daily from seventy participants from the Rotenburger Werke.

Over a hunderd participants from the Rotenburger Werke have given artistic contributions to the Bildernische Werkstatt in the last couple of years. They are the heart and soul, and the very substance that make the Bildernische Werkstatt what it is today. Not all the participants are "stars" in the art
world but many of them have developed their own unique style. A few of the participants are well-known and celebrated artists in the city of Rotenburg. Over fifty regional and state-wide exhibitions have been held with their art work and the collection of the Bildnerische Werkstatt has grown to over more than 2,700 pieces of art. The whole collection is stored and exhibited by us!
Why not come and visit us! A small portion from the artwork of such a lot of people you will find in the gallery on this internet page (above in the menu list).
The workshops of the Bildernische Werkstatt are fascinating more and more people. It is because one can work directly alongside artists of the Bildnerische Werkstatt (whom work with total freedom and untraditionally); plus being able to work with the workshop and seminar co-ordinators, who help bring fun into the whole learning process. We believe in offering only the best. You could have intellectually
penetrating discussions with a colleague about modern art. We have an excellent photographer if photography happens to be what interests you. Meeting artists face to face is a chance you would not want to miss. It is also possible to learn about advertising from the creative director of a successful advertising agency. You will also be able to profit from our co-operation with well-known museums and
their experts.

Another reason for our success is the fact that we have a close relationship to our trainees. There have been so many of them that have had the chance to receive on the job training from us that we have not had the chance to count them all yet!
If you are interested in becoming a trainee, please press "Contact "in the Menu list. Call or write us, or just come right over and visit us!
